We use the local natural mosquitoes with no genetic manipulation. The males are sterilized using X-ray. We only release sterile males. Male mosquitoes do not bite and are not interested in humans they spend their life feeding on nectar and seeking females.
Our treatment only affects specific species (aedes aegypti and aedes albopictus) both of which are invasive to the US. An invasive species is a species not local to the ecosystem. As such, lowering their numbers is important for maintaining the local ecosystem

In order for the Sterile insect technique to work efficiently there need to be weekly releases throughout the mosquito season. Our technicians will come by once a week and spend a few minutes spreading the sterile males in the property.
Neighbors working together to solve a problem is always a good thing. Those who live side by side or in front / behind one another can purchase individual plans at a cost savings. Releasing more sterile males across a larger area will increase your protection zone and reduce or render more breeding sites ineffective, therefore, reducing your biting females. Everybody wins.
You may come across some of our males, but in general they are not interested in you. The males will seek out the mosquito breeding sites in order to mate. Aedes breeding sites are small bodies of water around dense vegetation.
As opposed to traditional pesticides SIT does not spread any harmful materials so it is perfectly safe for all.
Because we release only males, they will not bite. Our males are sterile so when they mate with the local females (those biting you and yours), the eggs the females lay will not hatch and the population will crash.
We differ from barrier spray in several aspects. Barrier sprays include the dispersal of chemical pesticides, these are toxic not only to mosquitoes but also to beneficial insects. The Sterile insect technique stops the breading of harmful mosquitoes while pesticides kill the adults, so pesticides are fast and short lived while SIT needs to be done regularly but it gives continuing protection.
The larger the continues treatment area, the fewer mosquitoes can come from the outside. This makes the Sterile insect technique much more efficient on large continues patches of land.
