Navonel Glick

Jerusalem – August 6, 2024 – Diptera.ai, a biotech startup focusing on eradicating mosquito-borne diseases, today announced the appointment of Navonel Glick as CEO.

He joins co-founders Elly Ordan (CSO) and Ariel Livne (CTO) to lead the company into new markets and growth. As CEO, Glick will leverage his extensive experience working in the humanitarian and international development space, as well as scaling impact organizations to accelerate their growth.

“Diptera.ai is revolutionizing mosquito control using biology, computer vision, and robotics. We enable sustainable control of mosquito populations, and in the process eradicate the diseases they carry” said co-founders Elly Ordan. “We want to thank outgoing CEO Vic Levitin for his dedication and contributions to Diptera these past four years, and are looking forward to working with Navonel. His expertise and experience scaling impact organizations working in the developing world will be invaluable to us at Diptera.ai as we expand our reach to the countries in Sub-Saharan Africa that are the most affected by malaria. We look forward to working together with Navonel to steer Diptera.ai to new horizons.”

Navonel joins Diptera.ai after 15 years leading disaster response, humanitarian aid, and international development projects and organizations around the world. At IsraAID, he led over a dozen humanitarian missions around the world, including notably health projects in the Philippines after Typhoon Haiyan and in West Africa during the Ebola Virus Disease outbreak. As Co-CEO, he was the main architect of the organization’s strategic plans that saw it go from a handful of volunteers working from home to Israel’s largest humanitarian aid and international development agency, reaching millions in over 60 countries.

“Diptera is like a diamond in the rough. Ariel, Elly and the team have really come up with a game changing technology that is affordable, scalable, and as opposed to current leading solutions like insecticides, protects human health and the environment.” Said Glick. “Stepping in as CEO at this pivotal point presents an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the fight against Malaria, Dengue, and other mosquito-borne diseases. My main focus will be on building key partnerships with countries and organizations on the frontlines in the most affected countries, primarily in the WHO African Region.”
